Thanks for the comments guys. I've really enjoyed putting the space together.

Below is a shot I took with the sun out today from the garage. This space will need a coat of paint and some trim come summer. And that overhead storage will come down once the new shelf is in the shop.

This is the winter arrangement for getting three cars in a 2-car garage. The one sideways is fairly easy to push around on those dollies. And the 4x4 stop assures you really need to be trying to have an accident in the garage!

Nice cars! Wouldn't say this is a small space. At least you can store all your cars. Looking forward to your progress...

Thanks! Size is definitely subjective. At my previous homes I had garages and barns so "getting by" with a two stall garage took some getting used to.

Tool a look thru your garage thread and subscribed for future updates.

Good luck!

edit: forgot to add, I can't fit all of my vehicle in the garage, But I'm happy that 3 out of the 5 fit!

Have been busy working in there while trying to sort/organize and get everything completed.

One night this week I'll get another heavy shelf for the South wall and then the rest of the misc boxes can get stacked away. And when the weather warms a little I can get the yard in order; we made quite a mess out there...

Here's a few shots from today.

Lookin' good, love the colours.

Thanks!

Scot:

Nicely done.

I'm also from GR - a few months behind you on my build.

Subscribed.

Thanks! Just waiting on spring to REALLY get here so I can finish up. What part of GR? I'm NE, in the city.

great new space.
that's bigger than my small space.

i was wondering, why didn't you take the garage build over to the house and fill in this "gap" giving you more garage/house space?

Thanks! Money is the simple answer. It was a lot more expensive because of the roof and moving utilities that run thru there. That and I didn't want to give up the window in the bathroom.

A bonus I didn't really think about is how it's isolated from the house. I can make a lot of noise out there and you don't even know I'm there!

This sure did come out nice. I love that you have a dedicated work area/table. :rocker:

A nice work area like that is something mine lacks thus far. I went as large as I could, and still sort of ran out of space. To clear a nice working area like that, I'll have to get rid of one of my projects, which I have thus far not been able to bring myself to do.

Thanks for the comment. First time I've ever had such dedicated space and am loving it!

I know what you mean about getting rid of projects. Several years ago when moving to this house I didn't have space for motorcycles, tractors, cars and whatever else I would tinker with.

Only kept one car when making the move, sold everything else. It was tough to do at the time, but it was the right thing to do. And in the years since it has grown into a second summer driver and a race car.

The race car is the most fun because it's a family project. Mostly built by myself and my two sons; it has also involved extended family, friends, friends of friends, friends I had lost touch with. It's been a great project and we had no idea when starting 5 years ago it would be so much fun and get so much attention.

Good luck in deciding how to trim down your projects.

I love this place.. I have been kicking around this idea since we saw the plans for our new house.. I picked our layout specifically because of the space behind the 2 car garage.. You have built almost exactly what I want to do. Size and all.. .

Thanks for the comment. I was worried about not making it big enough and still needing to use the main garage for car storage; but it's nice to have dedicated shop space and not need to move a car to do something.

I'm really enjoying it!
