I'm looking for a solution for storing some small tools in my mobile service bag. Stuff like this:

It will get stored in a Husky 22" rolling tool tote

and inside:

I'm currently contemplating between a small tool roll like the Dickies and an organizer like this Maxpedition

I will probably throw some more small tools in there too and maybe a calculator.

Klein zippered bag or if you want to stick with Veto, their zippered bags.

Or you could do the Veto MB, MB2, or CP4. They'll a lot more than what's pictured.

Make your own roll up, sized accordingly it can be folded and stored in many configurations. My brother made me one in leather that is great.

Pencil case from dollar store or old drill bit case. I have many of each.

Or what's wrong with the zipper section with the mesh on inside?

You probably can't beat the peanut butter jar for simplicity and price (considering the sunk cost of the peanut butter). But if you need something now, I'd suggest looking at stuff by Kuny's, as they have a couple options available for between $10 and $15.

I don't have any suggestions, I'm just curious: what sort of work is that load out used for?

For the items you pictured, I second the recommendation of a pencil pouch. If you check your local office supply and craft stores you should be able to find a small, soft-sided, zippered pouch - something along the lines of what Is pictured below.

Eye glass case.
Easy to clip in a shirt pocket or pouch when you need it.

^ or target or (insert name of big-box retailer here)

They make them with a mesh (netting) panel on one side so you can see the contents without opening the bag.
You can find pretty durable models cheap.

If you want to get real fancy-schmantzy, there's an outfit called "Eagle Creek" that makes some nice stuff, but it's spendy: http://shop.eaglecreek.com/packit-original-slim-kit/d/1343C2700?CategoryId=328
I don't recall paying anywhere near that for a little satchel I bought years ago. I suppose prices have gone up. Used it to carry lens filters and stuff like that.

Also check ladies' cosmetic bags. I use a little zip-up pouch I found in the ladies accessories department at Nordstrom about 30 years ago. I suppose you could find similar items at any big retailer.

Besides the eyeglass case suggestion, I'd suggest a firearm magazine pouch or flashlight pouch for a police duty belt.

There is a company called Ripoff Pouches that has a wide selection that should fit your needs.

Thanks all for your suggestions. I thought about doing a pencil case or something similar but would like things to stay a bit more organized. I will probably add some more small tools like picks, electronics screwdrivers etc.

Klein zippered bag or if you want to stick with Veto, their zippered bags.

I think the MB and CP will be too big for what I'm looking for. I am looking at the MB for a clip on case once i replace my greenlee meter with either a Fluke 87V or 289.

Make your own roll up, sized accordingly it can be folded and stored in many configurations. My brother made me one in leather that is great.
I may try and find the time to make one like this if I can find some lighter leather. I build sheaths from heavier leather for my knives but its all by hand so its fairly time consuming.

I just started a new job doing Technical design and service at a company that builds and imports equipment for the beer and wine making industry.
I may be working on a piece of grape processing equipment, electrical panel, brewhouse, or eventually doing a bit of TIG welding.
My job is mostly in the office but I do get out from time to time. Here is the Veto MCT loadout.

How about an old fashioned pocket protector? Bucket boss brand had some really nice ones you might be able to find on the bay.
