Here is what the box in earlier post was for. Rounded up brass fittings all over the shop and organized them into this box. These little items have gone up in price, and it is best to use what we have than go and buy a new one. That is why I wanted them where I could find what I need.

Best Regards
Herb Spencer

Well done Herb. It amazing the price on some of these small fittings these days. That's a couple hundred sitting it that bin.

Nicely done Herb. I need to do the same thing. I keep putting brass fittings in random storage bins and they need to be organized together like this.

Thanks!
This was an old US Army radio parts box. I wish I had about 10 more of them. I look around flea markets for just such boxes to redo and make into parts cabinets.

Thanks as always for visiting, and for your comments. I was pleased that I got my hardware in one place. I looked on the internet for similar boxes like the one I used, but they cost too much. All of my stuff is something redone, or has been around since the wheel was invented.

Thanks again for your visit!

Best Regards
Herb

WOW, I had to back out of the thread to check to see if this was Herb Spencer's thread. So are your shaking cause it's cold or cause your shop is a mess? LOL[emoji1] I'm sure cause it's cold LOL.

Well I let 1/2 Cup and Gerard down. However, I had planned a small clean up and I wanted to do some things--so I did. I scrounged up a black cabinet for drill bits, and moved my drill press and buffer stand. I will make a parts cabinet out of the two file cabinets this week. I will build a wooden or metal frame for them. Also made a new grinder stand at the right of the workbench.

Not to worry, the place will again be trashed on my next projects. That's how it goes in shops!! That's what they are for.

Best Regards
Herb Spencer

What's the make on the black tool box? Looks like nice piece. (Gerard)

It is the same box that is shown in this photo. It is a box from the Army that housed the Small Arms Tool Kit back in the 1950s-60s. I have most of this tool set, but have moved the tools to a Kennedy Machinist tool box.

Best Regards
Herb

That picture shows a lot more detail. That's a nice size and good size usable drawers.

Have a good one Gerard

Gerard

I painted that box black quite a while ago. Now, the case will be red with gray drawers, and labels on the drawers to the contents. It will house all my drill bits, screw extractors, and related items.

I moved my larger drill press to the garage shop. I will use the smaller (8") one in my back shop where I do lighter work. I got it mounted and it works well after some cleaning and maintenance. I have storage underneath the drill press, and lots of room to work around it. This will save me some steps when I am working on a larger project.

Best Regards
Herb Spencer

That would be a good purpose being not too big and not too small. [emoji106] on the new avatar

Gerard

Thanks. I snapped that Route 66 Garage picture on a trip to the Route 66 Museum in Clinton, OK last fall. If you haven't been there, I highly recommend it as it is fantastic.

Well it's my birthday. The old man has finally turned "Seven Zero".
This was waiting for me when I got in tonight. I bet the Trout in the Little Red River are shaking in their boots right now!! I can't wait to get out there and try it out.

Best Regards

Happy Birthday you old goat. LOL maybe in 30 years ( when I catch up to you) my garage will be finished and look just and good as yours. That's a nice rod and reel. I never done fly fishing but hear it fun. I done surf casting, salt water and little fresh water. I not a big fisherman but any day fishing is better than working. Enjoy and Happy Birthday again.

Ric and Dennis

Thanks for your kind greetings, greatly appreciate them and both of you as good friends--thanks again.

I am going a little slow around here now as wife has had a "Left shoulder Surgery" this week. She is doing really well with it, but the six week sling deal puts her on light duty.
We already knew the "drill" as she had the right one done in 2013. I will be cook and cook's helper and maid for a while.

Thanks again for your nice wishes!!

Best Regards
Herb

A beautiful day today. I washed and detailed two rides and they needed it badly. The truck capper had a boo boo, so I had ordered a "Body Shop in a Box". Maybe I can get my buddy Don Long to talk me through the fix.
Tonight's sunset from my front porch was beautiful, but the camera shot does not do it justice. Sorry for my friends in the Northeast!! I hope it is not as bad as anticipated. Here, today, it was 70 F! Come on Spring!!

Best Regards
Herb Spencer
