Herb, nicely done on the air reel! I'm kicking myself for not installing a reel 15 yrs ago instead of last month. I'm also a fan of the Tribeca...particularly the front clip aesthetic.

Denwood aka Dennis

First thanks for visiting my thread, I am pleased you did.

On the Subaru Tribeca, I did a lot of research on those prior to buying a 2013, one year prior to the last production of them. The Tribeca is a highly engineered vehicle, if not maybe even over engineered. For what ever reason, they did not sell in the hundreds of thousands like Subaru wanted.
I was also taken with the looks of the car, and was sold on the smooth and solid ride and handling of it. I agree the 3d row seat is only for kids. We have never used it. The 24 Avg MPG is not great, but for a heavy vehicle with a six cylinder I think it is decent. I was so happy with mine that I have it under bumper to bumper warranty up to 100K miles. If Subaru comes up with a replacement vehicle as good as the original, I will be interested in one. I would even consider a very quiet diesel engine if they do that.

Thanks again for your visit and hope to see you here often. I am still in awe of your fantastic garage!!

Best Regards
Herb

For something uplifting here, we are enjoying some spring blooming at the Small Two Car Operation in place of the snow. Welcome Spring!

Looks beautiful Herb! We're having a blue skies sunny day here in the Pacific Northwest as well! A nice break from the solid rain the last couple weeks. Makes me want to get off work early and go play in the garage. I hope that's what you're doing!

I was amazed this little jump starter would start my neighbors V8 Chevy with a dead battery and later my cub cadet lawn tractor. Also charges and powers tablets phones etc for hours!
The little Solar analyzer will test 12V batteries and the alternator.
Both work well. Jump starter was $68.00 and Analyzer was 49.00 both on Amazon.

Thanks for your visit. The reel has proven to work out well where I have
mounted it near the bench. I think if you can do that at your place, you would be happy with it.

Thanks again for stopping by

Back at it again. Built a
stand for my belt disc sander. It nestles under a wing of
of the tablesaw. Finished installing new Dewalt compressor. Charging little power jumper after starting neighbors lawn mower (again!).

Best Regards

Thanks guys for your visits. Got several projects in the works for spring.
Nothing urgent though. Need to lubricate my rocking chair and get it tuned up for having a cold one during thinking sessions.

Hi Herb,

Sean

Thanks for dropping in.
I do have a set up in the shed for most of my woodworking tools. I keep my sliding miter saw and bigger table saw in the garage for occasional use there.
In the shed, I have a small portable table saw, a router table, another miter saw, a radial arm saw, and small hand held power tools. I like to set up outside on a nice day if I am doing a project. The shed is wired with two 20 amp circuits and I have my nailers and portable compressor on one, and the power tools on the other. I have portable benches that can be moved around easy enough, and I sort of model my set up after the way a lot of trim carpenters work, pulling stuff out of their trucks. If it rains, I can set up to do most things in the shed.

Thanks for stopping by, always glad to hear from you.

Best Regards
Herb

Hi Sean

My shed woodshop photos start on page 25 at post #488 if you want to see them. At this time I am totally redoing the set up of the shed for more room in there. I have added a belt/disc sander and my jointer, and several more hand held power tools and supplies. I am cleaning out things as I go to make more "room". It is a hard battle to find places for all my good junk that I either will need or will never need!
Also see post #464 on page 24 for my outside set up.
Best Regards
Herb

Dennis

It is called a Spirit A8 car jumper. Cost around 79.95 on Amazon. I am on my phone or I would paste the page for you. This jumper is amazing. I feel it is well worth having and I got one for my car and truck.

Best Regards
Herb

Spent most of the day on the Shed Wood working/Material Storage shop. I am trying to get it organized as best as room permits. I have it where I can work either inside the shop, or on nice days set up outside.
It is working well and just needs to be about twice it's size.

Best Regards
Herb Spencer

Wow Herb you have got some gear in your shop. Making great use of the available space, well done.

1/2 Cup

Thanks.

This little shop contains a small table saw, two chop saws, a portable router table, a 6 inch belt/disc sander, a drill press, a radial arm saw, various hand power tools and a wooden roller cabinet containing hand tools, a work bench, and supplies.

Not bad for it's size.

Best Regards
Herb

Herb,
The inside of your shed is like the Tardis from Dr Who.
More room on the inside than on the outside.
Good organization!

Jon

Thanks for your comments. In spite of it's small size I can work in it comfortably. On nice days, I move outside and have lots of working space!

Thanks for your visit!

Best Regards

Been looking for a great portable miter saw stand for my travelling operations. This stand from Woodtech was perfect . Quick and easy to setup. My other brainstorm was making power tool boxes out of ammo Cans. They work great for individual tools.

Best. Regards

Damn you Herb damn you.!!!! You force me to let cat out the the bag. I had a plan in my head to build a rolling table with adjustable legs and a expanded metal top. It's looks like exactly like that table only homemade. That's a pretty f@cking awesome table. I didn't even know they made such a table like that. Can you give me more details on the table such as where to get it and how much did it cost.

Herb, that's one very useful stand and could serve a multitude of functions, luvit.

Your ammo can idea will work well, are you thinking of labelling each one?

Regards

1/2 Cup

The table is fantastic both in looks and in practical application.

I have the tool cases labeled:

PC-SSAW (Porter Cable Sabre Saw)
PC-SPDBLK (Porter Cable Speed Block Sander)
PC-RORBT (Porter Cable Random Orbit Sander)

(I use a special language only I understand!!) LOL.

Best Regards
Herb

The table is the cat's meow big time!! It was ordered from Amazon and I use my Prime free shipping. The cost of it was $139.95 and worth every penny of it!! I think you can also get it from Woodtech's site with free shipping for the same price. For my needs, it is fantastic. It is so sturdy I think you could overhaul a 350 Chevy engine on top of it. The pictures I posted just don't do justice to how strong and portable it really is.
I am making a bolt on plywood top to use it as a portable workbench as well. It weighs 30 pounds, but the built in handle makes it very easy to carry around. I really like the supports on either side, and there is a place for one on the side if you use it for a table saw (which I probably will as well).

Best Regards
Herb
