Hey Fellas
I'm thinking about adding a small wall hung urinal in the garage. Having a hard time finding one. I need a small one with the water in at the top and a drain coming out the bottom. Any of you guys have one? Where can I get a small one?

We have a couple building material recyclers in our area (BRING, Habitat for Humanity Resale, etc) and they always have rows of urinals. I would see if you have something similar.

My dad made one for his shop out of a large funnel with a piece of hose
going to a hole he'd dug about 2' deep with gravel in the bottom and filled
with dirt. He kept a gallon jug of water sitting near be to flush it out, worked
great, never smelled, and kept him from having to run to the house everytime...
Fortunately I live in the woods and just have to step outside, the nearest
neighbor is 100+ yards away through the dense woods.

Not an answer to your question but a good story, hopefully not too risque...

When I was laid up with a broken ankle, it was a chore to get up at night and hobble to the bathroom in the dark. So I kept a plastic milk jug by my bed - it had a screw-on cap so the smell couldn't escape before it was emptied in the morning. Problem was, the opening was small enough that I had to insert my member in order to use it. Well, I quickly found the liquid displaced the air in the jug, thus creating a vacuum and some interesting sensations. :bounce:

Purchased this one at 84 Lumber (as well as most everything else needed to build The Hot Rod Grille garage). FWIW, the flush valve is the most expensive part in a urinal installation.

Jim has what I was going to suggest. If your looking for a china urinal (porcelain) you need to look for a salvage, rehab store or a commercial plumbing house. The flush valve is nice but are $100 or so. You can get a self closing valve, either a cross handle or a lever, and do just as well.

I am not at all bragging, but I would never fit a milk bottle.:eyecrazy:

I do use big mouth Gatorade bottles when camping.

This has been on The Fort Wayne Craigslist for a wile.

The bottom of the chip board panel is soaked. I'm guessing the drain may need some work?

Anybody try one of the waterless urinals? Seems like it might be an easy solution for some of us. There's a little maintenance cost, but it should be easy to set-up.

We installed a few waterless urinals at work. The janitors pour a pitcher or 2 of water thru them daily. Not sure if this is really needed, guessing 250 guys having to use them has allot to do with it. I've been there on the weekends when the plant isn't running and they do not smell. We have had them 5 or 6 years, as far as I know, no issues.

A friend put one in his house. Fairly small and modern looking. No feedback from his lady friends (he is single).

Go to a place that rents portable toilets. You know like what the use on construction projects. There urinals bolt on the wall & have a drain pipe out the bottom. They will have some or know where you can get them....Look in the Yellow papes..

Hate to be "that guy" and bring the laws of physics into the discussion. But... displacing the air in the jug would not create a vacuum. Just the opposite, it would create pressure.
