I'm working on my new shed, and want a turbine type vent at the peak (it had a loft/attic, even though it's only 120 Sq ft).

All the box stores carry are 12" or bigger which in this case is ridiculous.

Does anyone know of a source for an 8" or even a 6" turbine? I just need to bleed off a little of the heat build up, not refrigerate the place. (My 480 SF garage does fine with only one 12" turbine)

Anyone? :dunno:

I buy them from Grainger for vents on septic systems for 4"& 6" pvc pipe, warm rising air turns the turbine thus sucking more air thru the sysytem, required on some commercial systems I 've installed. Go to their online catalogue and do a search for ... turbine vent

Thanks for the tip on the smaller ones from Grangers. Man they want a lot for those things! I may need to rethink how to vent this thing... I have time I don't really need it till late spring/summer.

How about a couple of RV cyclone vents? They rotate to follow the wind and should **** out the hot air.

Is it sided yet? Gable vents are my prefered method for exhausting attic air. It is very simple to build a gable vent of sufficent size to develop a wall balanced ventilation system. Ridge vents typically do not flow a sufficent volume for most attic spaces and the slat back vents are just down right ugly.

Hmmm that may have promise. I wonder what the draw is with say a 10-15 mph breeze? We get that almost every afternoon.
