Here is my small workshop build, I'm not new on GJ but I have never had the time to post my project. But thanks to everyone posted their shop on this forum, I got a lot of inspiration.

So, in 2021 we bought a lot to build a new house and of course the garage went up before the house! Joke aside, the house was a prefab and we ordered it for summer 2022 so summer 2021 was the garage build to have a space to store material and tools. Fast forward to summer 2024, I finished all the interior and took time to setup my machine tools to be able to do some fab project again.

It is not very big at 24 deep by 26 wide but it is the maximum that was allowed on our lot. We are also limited at 16' 5'' on total height so I maxed it out too. The shell was all built in 3D before construction and both the little lifting beam in the roof and the overhead crane was part of the design. Foudation is ICF and it has an heated floor, it is a 2x6 framing with a 14in I joist and glulam beam roof system.

Looks like a great shop, well laid out with all the tools I hope to eventually acquire. I like the plasma table; Is it 2'x4'? Thanks for sharing!
Thanks, yes the plasma table is a 2' x 4'. I built it this summer and it proved very usefull already!

That's a good looking space! That T7 is looking pretty spiffy too. Looks like it still has the new on it.

Thanks, yes the T7 is still basically new, only 2000km on it! It is the first year I have my drinving licence and I didn't got a lot of time to travel on it with the familly and the house/shop construction.

Thanks, I started buying tools when I got out of school about 7 years ago. Now I have almost everything I need to fab what I want!

Yes the plasma table I have built is 2x4ft but the gantry is on the 4ft side so if I ever want a 4x4 I could extend it. But for now it does everything that I need and I don't want it to take more space.

Recently I started doing some modification to the shop so it better suits my needs. After over two years I found some things that I wanted to change to make it a little more efficient and to gain some room.

First off was to build a proper welding cart to have everything at the same spot. Tig and mig welder and all the accessory can be stored in this cart along with the two bottle of gas on the back!

The plasma cutter came in handy in this project once again! It is very satisfing to be able to make some nice looking parts without adding any time or any amount of work to the build!

this is only the first of many shop project, more to come when I get time to post!
