The small Texton #3305 is 7-1/2"

Littlest pinch bar (unbranded) is 5-1/2"

Most of the revised grip 8" pry bars (Snap-on crown handle/MAC+Matco strike through) look comical since the cushion grip doesn't scale. Makes the handle look huge.

The 8" indexing one is pretty tiny. Its 8" with the tip pointed straight so it folds to basically 6".

Matco just introduced a 3pc set of Prydrivers with 3/16, 1/4, and 5/16 tips. Basically they're just tiny straight blade pry bars. Fairly certain Mayhew is the manufacturer so probably be out everywhere else after a few months.

Aren't those just regular screwdrivers, with just a small bend using the liquid wrench near the end? :lol_hitti

I have a couple 8" Wilde that I use more than I thought I would. For tiny, a 5.8" Wiha chip lifter, and I also have two 7" tack pullers or whatever they're called. The last two aren't pry bars but used similarly

I've never though to research small pry bars, these would be super handy.

That box definetly looks Mayhew. I just got a set of Mayhew hose and cotter pin picks with their pro grip, I was impressed. The grip has USA molded in, unlike their prybars that are a Taiwan grip and USA bar.

I actually use this six inch rolling head prybar pretty often. You'd be surprised how handy they really are. It looks like a joke up against the 24/20" ones.

I worked with someone that had 2 little 4" versions of that. Worked awesome at pulling the cam plate off a Twin Cam Harley. I would still like to find a set like that.

I did buy a 8" Snap-On like the OP posted a couple weeks ago. Bonus points it has the desirable Orange Hard Handle. I should have the 18" version in by Friday. The 8" was $25 to the porch as you can see while the 18" was about $38 on the porch.

When the dominator line came out they were sourcing the handles from out of country but that changed some years back. They've been 100% USA for a while now including all the variations made for Matco and MAC.

I think the new prydrivers look handy too. Who doesn't use a flat blade screwdriver like a chisel? Problem is the tips are usually too hard to abuse for long before they chip or snap so being made like a real pry bar they should have some give instead of breaking. Not crazy about the Matco price though at $120 for the set. Was expecting something more like $80. At $120 you can buy a 5pc screwdriver set with a lifetime warranty and continue to abuse the flats. The direct to market price on the prydrivers will probably be a third of that ($35-$40).

That's cool, thank's for the info and good for them! I'll have to check my last one I bought, 40ish inch monster. Polar oposite of what we're discussing here.

I hope Mayhew comes out with these smaller bars.

I have one of these on my keychain, ~3" overall. Use it for prying off stubborn covers, splitting cases, whatever I'd have grabbed a screw driver or knife for before I got them.

I love the Snap on SPB8A it’s the size of an average screwdriver but plenty strong. I’ve had mine for a long time and it fits everywhere. Taken a lot of abuse over the years and it still keeps going.

The new ones with the crown handle are super big and kind of defeats the purpose. The smaller handle with the strong pry bar is perfect.

Last year, I bought for the first time a 12” pry bar with the plastic handle (Tekton) and a heavy duty demolition screwdriver (Milwaukee). They’ve become two of those “How did I ever get along without these” type of tools. Short money, big return. I wouldn’t split hairs on any particular brands as even a HF tool like this will work well.

I've got the middle and right in your pic. Right is a Stanley and boy are they handy to have. As for OP's question about a regular short prybar, he hasn't had to get a half corroded alternator out of a modern vehicle yet I guess.
