Smart Electrician Screwdrivers

Anyone ever seen these before? They look decent, Menards has them on sale for $4.99. Thinking of picking up a set to put in my electric tool bag as I am always borrowing my screwdrivers from other tool boxes around the house.

Well it looks to just be a Menard's house brand...

It is a chinese knock off of european design handles. They sell them as in-house brands in couple of german big box stores. Tips are soft.

If you want a cheap set of vde screwdrivers. The Sheffield black and green set at sears are not that bad. The tips are not as soft as the one you listed.

wera makes a pretty cheap set of 6 for around 20 bucks. all my coworkers get on my case because i use them for everything, but for twenty bucks ill just buy a new set when i need them.

I saw these last week in Menards' newspaper insert. Hmm? Figured they might look good taking up space in my electrical toolbox. Not that I need any more screwdrivers, mind you. But, it gave me an excuse to visit Menards.

Stopped by Menards yesterday and took a look-see. Didn't like 'em. The tips seemed sorta "fragile", if'n you get my drift. Pass!

However, being in a screwdriver buying mood, I found these instead for $9.99. Mucho better feel, plus they're magnetized. Check 'em out:

Oh, even though these GBs are way more expensive, they too are "Hecho en China". How lucky is that?

I also highly recommend the Wera brand. You get a very hard tip and a quality screwdriver from a quality manufacture. Less than 20 bucks for a set of six.
