Smoke Detector AC Plug Adaptor?

I'm replacing my smoke detectors, and would like to add one in the attached garage. I'm planning to use Nest detectors, which interconnect wirelessly, so I only need AC power (there is a battery-only option, but I'd prefer AC).

I have a ceiling AC socket, for a garage door opener that was never installed (a late decision to use a side-mounted LiftMaster instead). Presumably I could open it up and just run some new wire, but is there any sort of off-the-shelf adaptor I could use instead?

(Also, would this be a code violation/actually dangerous? And would this all be for nothing, if the opener on the same circuit creates interference that the Nest wouldn't like?)

You should be able to remove the receptacle and mount the smoke detector right onto the box that you removed the receptacle from. No adapter needed.

Generally manufacturers recommend heat detectors instead of smoke detectors in garages.
