Smoke detector selection confusion ???

Replacing old smokes in old home, all are singles... two wire wiring in house only.

No code compliancy anything... totally out in the country.

Looking for dual sensor- ionization and photoelectric.

Very hard to find, all the info is so ******** filled w fluff showing smiling people ****.

Other than the above I prefer simple and inexpensive.. no blutooth strawberry pie kinda stuff wanted.

10 yr lithium batt would be good.

Anyone direct me?

Marc, I think (if I remember correctly) that you are sort of right. I was doing similar research last year but I was wanting interconnected dual sensor as I have a pretty big house. All I could find with interconnected were smoke and CO. However as mentioned by others there are plenty of dual sensor - but to my knowledge not any that "talk" to each other.

When you buy them you will find that the Contractor Pack will save you a few dollars over the single unit prices.

KIDDE Pi9010 Dual Sensor smoke detector.

Keep in mind ANY photo electric smoke detector will need the batteries changed more often than a ionization smoke detector.

IONIZATION smells the smoke..... Ionization chamber.
PHOTO ELECTRIC sees the smoke....... So there is a light source (transmitter and receiver) that needs power.
