How is everyone doing out there, my name is peter and im new to this thread, well ill get right to the point, i work at a little repair shop out in nj, mostly i do state inspections and emission repairs, well anyways its time for me to get a smoke machine with all these evap and lean codes out there, and that's where i can use your help, here are my top 3 picks so far, the smoke wizard, the smoke pro air complete, or the expensive snap on smart smoke.

Now the smoke wizard is always trying to prove how much better it is than the old smoke pro but i haven't heard them say anything bad about the new smoke pro air complete, which advertises that you dont need shop air anymore because of the built in air compressor, they also advertise that they dont use a glow plug while the smoke wizard does stating that a glow plug is better, is a glow plug really a better choice? Now one turn off about the smoke pro is that there is no dye in the solution but is that a really big deal i mean cant i just buy a solution with dye in it and use that?

Now the new snap on, well snap on advertisies that it can be used anywhere with the "optional battery" but you still need to buy the co2 tank with the regulator. The only things i see wrong with the snap on is, the price of course, and there is no mention of a flow control, i dont know how important that really is but again its something smoke wizard highly advertises, what i love about the snap on is the digital display and self testing features but other than that it seems pretty similar to the smoke pro minus the the built in compressor, but is that really a big thing, and the of course snap on advertises the dye in the solution but again cant i just use a solution with dye in the smoke pro or will that damage it?

Thank you in advance for all your help and please mind my grammar lol

I've used the Redline Protech unit for about 4 years.

Works great, uses regular scent free baby oil; cheap to operate; locates the leaks other smoke machines miss.

Thanks for your input, but i would really like to have a dye in the solution to help find those stubborn little leaks, can you use other oils with the smoke pro or is that a big no?

We have the Redline unit at work, and I've never had the need for dye in the process of finding a leak.
