That looks pretty darn crappy, no offense. Like a webcam with a cheap plastic fiber waveguide.

There used to be a Milwaukee one which took AAs for $115 or so, but I can't seem to find a place that carries it at the moment.

And what would you do if you didn't have a computer around? That monstrosity requires a computer's USB port for power and data transfer.

Non professional garage use, automotive mainly, in the past 2 weeks i can think of two uses I would of had for one.

First to read the serial number on the inside of a sway bar link, and the second to look in-between the body and metal skid plate on an x5 to try and find a clip I dropped in the engine bay (eventually found it by feeling around but the process would of been much quicker with a camera)

I have the Milwaukee M-spector. I bought the one that uses AA's and it works fine, but I bought it thinking the M12 batteries would fit it. They don't.

I've had it a couple years now, and use it only occasionally, but it has helped a bunch in a couple situations. Most recently I used it on a leaky drain pipe in the basement, which started as a small drip and had steadily gotten worse for quite awhile. I couldn't figure out where the leak was, because the pipe was buried in concrete.

Stuck the camera down there - in and out a few times - and sure enough, a crack ran around the circumference of the pipe right where two different floors settled a bit differently. Didn't keep me from having to chip concrete, but at least I was able to keep it to a minimum.
