I thought this thread was going to be broken snap on pliers.
That's what I thought too! Although these are usually in the General Tool section, We vintage folks already know about 'no warranty'.

Are they vintage? Maybe post a photo of them.

Were they for snap rings? I have a pair of vintage Wilde snap ring pliers. They are not branded Snap-Off though. In fact, they look like Waldes-Truarc knock-offs.

Now I am curious where this is going.

Here are some pics

One way to try to track down the OEM may be through the design. Sure looks like the Howard Manning/Champion DeArment ("Channellock") tongue and groove to me. The handles don't and neither do those square jaws. But I am pretty sure that's the Manning patent.

I looked at my old posts back in 2014 (didn't think of doing that) and Snaparxon is right, someone back then said they were made by Wilde. I looked on Wilde's web site and they show pliers for sale that look exactly like the Snap-Offs.
I actually have 2 pair of the Snap-Off's, a 12" and a 10". The 10" is like Snaparxon's pic and the # is the same G271. Number on 12" is G272. They both have red rubber coated handles.
I also have a 16" Channel Lock plier and comparing it to the 12" Snap-Off, the design is darn near 100% identical, except for the squared off blunt nose of the Channel Lock.
There's got to be a story behind the naming, maybe even a lawsuit for patent infringements, or not.

To me...they're cool as a moose! I'd clean them up, frame them, hang on shop wall.
Buy another pair of slip joint pliers to use.
Show them off[emoji16]. "Anyone can buy Snap On...few have Snap Off!".

yup. that's what I'm going to do. Make a nice wooden case with glass front. They are clean, no rust, a few nicks, but in excellent shape.
The best thing about this pair is that they belonged to my Dad.
Recently I took one of these Snap-Offs to my McDonalds coffee group. No one there ever heard of Snap-Off. One guy was a retired industrial/mechanical teacher and said he dealt with tools all his life and never heard of them.
I see Wilde still uses the same # on their new pliers, G271 and G272.
