I have one of the older 1/2" breaker bars with the solid pin. About to service(replace) the drive portion. Is the pin straight or dose it have a taper? Is there a certain side to start with? Thanks.

It does not matter which side you start it with as the pin is not tapered. Good luck.

If I'm not mistaken, the pin will be straight with a chamfer on both ends. An arbor press is probably used for installation.

I used an arbor press. The pin I removed was straight with the usual clutch pressed in the center. The ends of the pin were rough semi curved under chrome. The breaker bar has the old underlined Snap On logo. SN18A.
