Snap On 1/2" drive chrome socket with unique look... SDH240A.

This appears to be a shallow chrome 1/2" drive socket but seems to have a unique part number and be slightly deeper than standard, as well as lacking the two grooves I normally see on standard sockets. I couldn't find anything about it on the internet so was curious if anyone had any insight. Was it for a special kit or purpose or just a variation I missed. It is a 3/4" 12 point socket.

Looks to be a "high performance" socket made for aircraft applications.

Wow, thank you for the amazingly through, fast response... now all I need to do is decide if I need an extra, lonely, 3/4" socket in my drawer just for those high performance situations.
