snap on 1/2 ratchet adaptor

I have a 1941 no.67 1/2 ratchet adaptor. It seems to be "locked" up at present. I am attempting to fix. Does anyone know how the center shaft section comes out of one of these things. I have it apart soaking at this time, just trying to figure out how to tear her on down. Any help would be appreciated. Sorry no pics right now.

you can give it to the snap on guy for a new version
I have taken them apart and gotten them working again, they are hard to kill
