Does Snap-On make a 1/4 hex bit screwdriver handle? Something like a instinct screwdriver but holds 1/4 hex bits. I know they have a ratcheting screwdriver that can be locked but looking more for a bit driver. Something they possibly sell now or could be found used that they use to sell. I searched there site and could not come up with anything.

SDDM41 is a discontinued non-ratcheting magnetic screwdriver. It has the same type of stainless steel shaft as the SSDMR4A ratcheting screwdriver, but a different handle. The handle that's on the SDDM41 is the same handle that's on an SDDP42 Phillips screwdriver. Those handles were the black ergonomic hard handle.
SSDM40B is another discontinued non-ratcheting screwdriver with a stainless steel shaft. It has the older square'ish Tenite handle and a bit storage compartment inside the handle.

But I don't think with those you could use the typical 1/4 hex bits as it would not have the ball detent to hold the bit into the shaft.
Hmm, also see the collet style but rather have something with a thinner shaft.
Those two drivers are designed to be used with reversible bits, the OP wants to use regular bits I would assume.

SGDQ6 http://buy1.snapon.com/catalog/item...roup_ID=683188&store=snapon-store&dir=catalog is exactly what you are looking for. Its pretty nice actually, with the internals made by Wera. You can also remove the center shank and put it in your drill as a bit extension.
Adjustable length shank? I wonder how that works.
Where the shank meets the handle there is collet also that you can push down to have the hex shank go into the handle. You can also remove the shank and use it as a nut driver for power tools.

Great question!! Isn't it ironic... First Snap-on really wants folks to buy the ratcheting screwdrivers but they discontinued all the blades (not shanks). Then Snap-on sells lots of 1/4" drive hex bits but they don't even offer a simple hex bit handle.
I have the Wera (and Snap-on) SGDQ16KT that other posters mentioned but that is really designed for the 1" (long) power bits not the shorter 1/4" hex bits.
Good thing Zephyr and Apex have some of the best bits AND sell numerous regular and stubby handles.

Ohhhh....I want one! I might have to get one of those SGDQ6's...figure, you can also then use any other hex shanks....even a magnetic bit insert shank or whatever you need.
I like the craftsman standard black handle bit driver and the craftsman ratcheting screwdriver, which is just a ratcheting 1/4" hex holder. They even make a "professional" grade hex holder which looks even nicer. You can get all 3 with bits for <$50, more like <$40 if you watch the sales.

Snap-on and Craftsman are not in the same league. Snap-on is largely marketed and sold to professionals who use tools to make a living. Craftsman is largely marketed and sold to home do-it-yourself folks. (Yes, I know there are some exceptions.
)The Snap-on $85 diamond bit driver set is actually made by Wera and is not intended for a home do-it-yourself user.
Finally, there is certainly no comparison between a Craftsman ratcheting screwdriver (even a professional one) and a Wera or Snap-on ratcheting screwdriver. This is reflected in the pricing, quality, features and to some extent warranty.
Sorry, I'll get off my soapbox. Zkling, I'm not picking on you. It just bugs me when folks here on GJ compare apples and oranges or say they want quality AND low price. It just ain't gonna happen.

I agree, you do get what you pay for. But for some folks, like myself that can't afford the "best", or don't need it. I was just throwing it out there. Only reason I added that was because it sounds like the OP was pretty happy with his Cman handle.
I am not a professional by any means, just a weekend worrier working on his GTI and and friends cars now and then. Also some things around the house. I do have a full set of Wera bits as I was able to get them for cheap and last pretty well. I was able to get the Wera hex screwdriver for $12 from Amazon so will see how it is. I do have one of those SO 1/4 handles, locking version, and have used a bit adapter before. Thanks everyone for your assistance.
