I know it's a good deal at $8.25 per new Snap on socket. However, even though I own lots of Snap on tools, it still kind of takes my breath away thinking of paying $198 for 24 1/4 inch drive sockets. I know they're great and I have their full set but, I just don't think I could bring myself to pay that price today. It's just me and your results may vary. Oh, and the set actually runs 4-14mm depending on which ad you read.

I didn't have a nice 1/4" shallow metric set and was ready to pull the trigger on the Snap On set .. then along came Toptul .. will hopefully be receiving it this Thursday. I bought both the shallow and the deep set.

Found my 1/4 drive Snapon set one or two sockets at a time, paid from 50 cents to $4, but I also have a full set of craftsman and SK in regular and extended.

This is not a time to put money into new retail price tools. Next three months could find a LOT of mechanics out of work, and if we aren't prepared to buy their tools some kids may not get presents for xmas.

Hang in there man... being "in the industry" I think alot of dealerships are watching their balance sheets taper and playing into the "hype". Sales/service always fall off at this time of year. I'm hoping things will pick back up in the spring and most dealerships will find themselves understaffed.

What sort of carlines do you work on? I notice your a Diesel guy.

Thanks man, I work on heavy trucks and I love doing it but its hard in this field right now especially in the KC metro area, the dealer I worked for had been slow for months and my understanding is we were not the only ones. I just got my box home yesterday and I know enough people to keep me some what busy with side jobs but I would like to get back in to a dealer or private shop preferably not a fleet shop because I'm fairly sure I will go batty doing the same things repeatedly but I'm not sure I can be to picky right now.
