For those of you who either collect them or have come across alot of them, when looking at the TM830 models and T936, have you noticed that with both that there was a "slim head" and "fat head" version of both?

The "fat head" (first generation) on the TM830 had a flush face, with either a single or double line stamp outline around the selector lever, and the "slim head" (second generation) TM830 the selector was indented in. Then when the (first gen) T936 came out is was back to the "fat head" until it was changed back to the "slim head" design...

The RF is a refrigeration wrench. Used on mostly older systems with king valves . The Ford "York" style compressor for example.

The RF720 is an A/C ratchet.

I'm not sure I follow you on the rest of this.:headscrat

The first generation of 800 series ratchets had the depressed area around the direction selector. The later 800's had the tandem lines around the direction selector. 800's also have a direction lever attached by a screw.

The very early 900 series don't have a circle around the Snap-on logo. Later ones do. 900 series can also be identified by their direction selector that installs from inside the ratchet body. Also, the only 900 series made that wasn't sealed is a quick release, model# TR936. The middle ratchet in the second picture of your first post is most likely a TM70 or TM75 with the wrong kit installed. The 1985 date code tells me that. 800's were released in the 1990's. 900's released in the early 2000's ish.

ok I see now. What I mean by slim head and fat head when talking about the 800 and 900 series ratchets is when holding the ratchet with the depressed area next to the ratchets with the flush head, the one with the depressed area has a more "perfect" straight shaped head while the other has a rounded head. The same I have noticed on the 2003 900 series have a rounded head while the 2004 and newer 900 series have that "perfect" straight shaped head.

BTW thanks on the info for the RF720, I just picked up all of those tools that are pictured with it.

ok pictured below:
Left date code 1998 right date code 1991
The one on the left has a more rounded "fatter" head then the more symentrical "perfect" one on the right.

BTW SNAPMOM, you have some very nice ratchets there... Let me know if they need a new home!

You got it backwards. The indentation around the switch was the first generation. The second generation was flat. Same thing with the 3/8 drive F830.
