I have an 18 volt Snap-On cordless Sawzall (NiCad) . I have the protective battery boot. When I use the Sawzall nonstop with the battery going from full charge to dead, the battery gets warm. Is that normal??

Snap-on does not rebuild batteries. Some place like Batteries plus can rebuild them.

Is it a modern battery? i.e. for a 6850/4850? If so just buy new ones. I had a couple of these new slide ons done by interstate and they just dont have the amperage that the OEM cells do. From what Im told it costs more to get the good cells from the battery companies than it does to buy new ones. I was pretty disappointed to find my 1/2" impact has less power out of the gate freshly charged with the rebuilt as opposed to the couple brand new ones I bought. (needed to have more than 3 to begin with as I have like 4 tools) Just my experience.

The Snap On battery is one of the very rare pack that actually has really good cells. I don't know how many battery suppliers Snap On uses, but the ones I had were from Sanyo. If you price out a rebuild with new Sanyo cells, it cost just as much as a brand new pack. I normally don't care too much for Nicad, but the Snap On battery is as good as it gets.

Last I knew SO batteries are about a $100 a pop which in this day and age, is a pretty good price. As for a battery getting, yes any will and a saw all especially since they are high draw.
