Hi,

I've have a 1994 KRL761 and KRL791 Dale Earnhardt 6 time champion tool box. I ordered replacement drawer slides from Snap-on but the ones they sent are a new style and don't fit the box. There's tabs on the new slides that aren't there on the old ones. Does anyone know the correct part number for these drawer slides? It's not 8-05088ALRMS, that's what I was sent.

Thank you,
John

Which tabs on the replacement slides don't fit? Are they the bayonet tabs on the front and rear of the slides, or are they the "claw" tabs in the middle of the slides? The reason why I ask is because the current box KRL722, should be the exact size overall as your KRL761.

In the meantime, I'll try to find the old part number for you.

See the picture, slide on the left is the original. The tab circled in red doesn't exist on the original and the tabs circled in blue are different. There are no part numbers stamped in the slide. I appreciate you looking for the old part number.

Thank you,
John

Are you absolutely sure they don't fit? Looks like they should snap in. I've replaced a lot of slides on '80s and '90s Snap On boxes, and the new replacements aren't always a spot on match, but they've always fit.

I think you should try to take that "claw" off you have circled in red. You could do some surgery with a Dremel cut-off wheel.

The other bayonets you have circled in blue should line up. Both the KRL761 and KRL722 are 24 inch overall depth boxes.

The other option is to contact Accuride. They were the supplier for slides back when your box was built.

I was finally able to get the Slider issue resolved. It took a while since I didn't have proof of purchase but I was a Snap-on Dealer in the 90's and ordered a few of these boxes back then and let them know that. Snap-on agreed to replace my 30 year old tool boxes under the lifetime warranty. Of course the Dale Earnhardt edition is no longer available so I saved the pictures from the old box to hang in my garage. I went with midnight blue for the new color. I happy with the outcome and the new box looks great in my garage!
