I picked up some of these sockets today, I was curious to look up their retail value but it seems Snap-On no longer makes these deepwell 6-point 3/4" drive sockets. Are they only found in the industrial catalog? The ones in the regular catalog are all 12 point shallow.

The part numbers are LS-422A 1 5/16, LS-462 1 7/16 and LS-482 1 1/2. The 1 5/16 is chrome, but the other two look like industrial finish and are dated 1954. I can take pics if needed.

Sell them to ME! I go out of my way to find 6 point 3/4" stuff, can be a MOFO because people seem to like to make 12 point things.. Don't know why..

I use shallows and deeps. Mostly shallows. I use these for working on the D4s at the vineyard of my Boss' yard ( Grand Cru Vineyard in Glen Ellen )

I, like many of you, like to have one of everything as well.

Sure wish I was able to snag that 1.5" drive ratchet that went for $462 on eBay a while back. That was a jewel!!

So then they don't make these sockets anymore?

The last catalog I have them in is the 500i Snap-On Industrial catalog. That was from 1999. I don't have anything between that and the new 1000 catalog so I am not sure exactly when they stopped making them. They still list the LS342 1-1/16" deepwell socket.

I think I got one of them... Use it for 8.8 diffs in cars. Good socket.

So buy some new 3/4" Snap-on deep 6 point impact sockets they still make them. The fasteners will not miss the chrome....

I did. I will be picking up some of them Thursday night from my dealer. They are spendy, but this is what you have to do to support your neighbor.

( My Snap On Dealer lives a couple of houses down from my Mom, hence she is my neighbor )

I got around to taking a few pics, 5 are Snap-On, the 2" is a Proto and the shallow 1 5/16" is Belzer-Vanadium, made in Germany.

One thing thats nice about those is they have the pushbutton on the side for taking them off the ratchet. My SO 3/4 ratchet has the standard friction ball and also a locking pin that is a pain to deal with on a non SO socket. I keep a short extension on it so I don't have to deal with the pin, because I don't own any of the sockets
