I know, I know, I know....these threads can get old, but it's my first so I'll keep it painless I promise:D

While browsing my local pawn shop I came across a Snap-On IM31 3/8 air impact that looks to be unused new. It is an older aluminum body gun with a shiny red plastic cover on it. The price is $60.

Are these older guns worth buying? I'm skiddish on buying used air tools, so I thought I'd ask and see if it's worth the gamble. If it turns out to be junk, can I get a rebuild kit for the older style still?

Thanks for any input

good gun, not very powerful but they are easy to rebuild and usually you can get them cheap.

I have 3 myself, I also have the 1/2" version IM51?

If you are considering a powerful 3/8, keep your eye open at pawn shops for a MG325. I scored one for $60 almost new

snap on's repair service is like $125 to send it in and they refurbish it for you or you can go on the website and get most parts for it. usually what happens to those is the hammer pins break which are cheap
