Snap-on 300 ft-lb Torque Wrenches

About a year ago Snap-on introduced a couple of longer 1/2" drive torque wrenches. One the TechAngle and the other the Brutus . Just curious if anyone has bought them or would recommend them.

The sole purpose of the wrench would be torquing bolts from 250 to 300 ft-lbs. mainly 17 mm hex bolts to 300 ft-lbs. I have 1/2" drive hex sockets

Can't quite decide between buying a 400 ft-lb 3/4 drive or one of these new Snap-on models. The Brutus model has 6% accuracy and the TechAngle 2% Will the Tech with the flex-head stand up to repeated use at max torque and is the heavier duty Brutus accurate enough?

I bought that 300lb rectangle and I like it but I don't know how well it would hold up to repeated constant use at max torque

I agree with the others--the Snap-On probably won't survive repeated use at full rating.
They probably don't employ real engineers or bother with product testing.

Torque wrenches are not designed to work at max or min.
Buy the 3/4 one.

They (most) are guaranteed accurate from 20% - 100% of rating. Longevity is another matter. Don't you trust Snap-On??

Here is a picture of a Mac 3/4 drive 400 ft.lb. torque wrench, that i recently purchased and how it compares to a Proto 1/2 drive 250 ft.lb

I thought I would share, as the 400 ft.lb. size is uncommon. There is a lot of mention of the Harbor Freight 300 ft.lbs and the name brand 600 ft. lb wrenches

I bought the regular click type "Brutus" as well as PI 3/4 that runs up to 650lbs that is the same style as the MAC pictured a couple posts above. They are both good tools, but for consistently torqueing 300, I'd recommend a 3/4 drive.

I'd go 3/4 also and more likely go 650 ft lbs. Most instruments are more accurate at the middle of the scale.
