Snap-on 6" mud hog

I noticed that snapon has new mud hogs.. and am interested in the 6". However I noticed the rpm is listed at 1000 rpm. Which sounds awfully slow to me. I have 2 - 8" mud hogs already.. a older snapon and a the hutchins eliminator. The SO is fast.. and hutchins is slow at 1700 rpm. So.. I cant believe 1000 rpms is what it really is ? I asked my dealer about it.. and if I could try one out for a week - he didnt really like that idea, but didnt say much.. and said he'll try to get one in. But, seriously.. does snapon have a policy where I can return it or anything like that if it doesnt work out for me ?

Anyone seen/tried/has this mud hog ?

SO's website says they are made in tawain - however the 8" one i saw on the truck said USA on the handle. Whats up with that ?

I cant help, I didnt even know what a mud hog was.lol But these look to be the same as the SO and they list RPM at 900

I have the 8 inch one. They are really nice. Havent gotten to use mine much yet. What do you plan on using the 6 inch one for?

I have an 8" cheapie brand I bought 35 years ago. Keep it oiled and it's keeps working...

Smaller panel repairs. And panels with more contours. I go for my 6" palm sander with 40 grit alot.
