Wow, he'd take a $9000 loss on an $11,000 box? If something sounds too good to be true...

(Not saying I wouldn't do it, I would check there is not an outstanding balance or that it's not stolen...)

Good deal, but almost seems too good.
I would want to run the serial number by my Snap on dealer, but that is me.

The casters have torsion springs. Most likely there's a lien on the box too if he just bought it. Last ad like that I saw was a scam anyhow.

My driver said he would go with me to get it so he can check it out. I feel like I am stalking this guy, but for $1900 too bad!

I doubt he paid full list for it, maybe 7 or 8k but that is still a chunk to give up.

There is no toolbox. It's a scam. I can tell you it's a scam even without proof, but if you just have to have proof, here's the original ad, in Chicago:

Please make the check payable to the Prince of Nigeria and send a copy of your SS card and your birth cert.

You just rained on my parade. I thought I was just dealing with someone selling a box they owe on. What do these people think will happen by posting stuff they don't have? i know the price was the first clue, but I was hopeful.

There was a krl 1023 posted on my local CL for the same $1900. I sent a message asking for the serial number, they responded back for me to send a 'cheque' to their 'shipper' somewhere in Wisconsin. So I responded that I was actually in that same town (what luck!) with my body builder buddies and we would stop in to personally pick it up. No response :dunno:

The only thing raining on your parade was greed.

What do they think will happen? Really? They think you're going to send them $1900. And why do they think that? Because people do it every day.

1) Collecting information for future scams.

2) Hoping you will be too excited to lose the deal of a lifetime and give them your CC# over the phone to hold it, or send a check overnight.

You still have some really nice boxes in your garage and 1900.00 dollars in your pocket. you still win in my book.

Absolutely. I was only interested because of the price. I would like to get a triple bay and condense, but I can't do it at used car prices. I can't believe the same exact ad was listed in Chicago too.

I would only do an in person transaction for something like this, but like others have said, some folks will send that check or hand over CC info.

I really wanted an Epiq when I bought my KRL1032 but the 60" and 68" had less usable space and the price on an 84" just didn't work for me. Now my 1032 is stuffed and I can't decide what I want but a deal will catch my eye someday and I'll upgrade. I think the KRL1043 looks really cool because it has the 54" wide drawers like the 1032. Either way it probably won't be a $1900 super deal

The KRL1043 comes up as a hardwood top?
Do you mean the KRL1033?

I am looking at the KRL1032 and the top two drawers are 69 inches wide, the 1033 has 69 inch wide drawers also.

Pretty sure the 1043 is discontinued now in favor of the Epiq Mr Big.

There are a few on ebay

I have been searching for a 1033. Between craigslist and my snappy guy I have been unable to find a used one. Ii have found a couple of classic 96's, but not exactly what I want. I would have "settled" just to have an epiq....especially a $1900 one.

I've seen this ad in Maine as well.

More common in my area is someone posting a KRA stack, and advertising it as a KRL stack, and asking KRL prices.

Thats a krl, not 100% sure but I think the only difference between that and the krl1024 is the full length drawers on the one side. That 1043 is actually a pretty sweet setup. You can get that same length and layout in an epiq too.

You are right about the 1024 and 1043 differences. I really like the full width drawers on the 1043.
