I posted about this before but that thread didn't lead anywhere. Figured I'd post again and see if anybody that knows about the adapter sees it. I can't get the adapter apart for a proper cleaning and can't find anything online about what it looks like internally or how to disassemble it. Mine uses a spring clip and after removing it and the selector lever it doesn't want to do anything else. It appears there's a cover plate of sorts and I think it's stuck but I'm not sure if there's a trick to it or if it's something else. Any help would be appreciated. Any instruction, pics, or diagrams are what I'm trying to find whether it be a better understanding of the thing or finally getting the thing apart.

Once the clip is off, put it in a vise and try tapping the anvil with a brass hammer.

Thanks mate! Did as you said, substituted brass for hard rubber though and basically treated it like a hunk of meat needing tenderizing. Took a good amount of hits and didn't want to spend awhile hitting metal on metal.

Seems functional still but found a little problem with the spring/springs. Looks like they're either intertwined or one long one that snapped and got twisted together. Obvious signs of grinding though.

Still works as is but never have tried higher torque so don't know about alot of pressure being put on it.

This is where it'd be nice if snap on left the old diagrams up after an item is discontinued. Only way to know it's supposed to be like it is is if someone else says it is.

Looks pretty good. I would lube it it up and throw it back together. Should work good.

Intending to lube it up tomorrow. Ran some thin oil down the shaft but I'll use red grease on the teeth. Didn't want to mess up the brass ring tube the spring goes in to get the shaft out so did it the easy way after degunking it. Looks like my original degunking a few months back did the trick for the teeth, skipped some teeth and snappy didn't want to do anything with it after a non effective soak so I jetted it out through the crevices with PB and acetone cycles, but didn't get the shaft. Should be easy going now but I'm still concerned about the spring(s) and if they're supposed to be like that minus the two worn off links or if I should throw a pen spring in it instead. How I see it it's either non affecting damage or limiting effectiveness damage. Don't want to run it heavy and have the pawl slip but my hopes on the non affecting.

Back together now. Don't have any bolts to break at the moment but it's locking proper. Think it needs to wear itself in a bit, more tension to move some of the grease around more, but a few bolts should do it.

What did you end up doing about the spring? I have one of these adapters at home and the racheting action seems a little weak. Wonder if it is a spring problem also. Never had figured out how to get the thing apart either. Will have to give it a shot now.

Checked mine tonight and it is a 67B. I can see the collar near the selector switch but can’t see how to get it loose. The collar has two small indentations on opposite sides of the ratcheting head from each other. I will try to get a pic.

Looks like you have one of the threaded ones. Think they used to have a tool to lock into the holes and twist but some people's used a punch and tapped it at an angle to break it loose.

Put mine back together the same way it came apart. Springs intertwined but I think it's not the right way looking at snapmoms pics. Also the diagram should match up with yours perfectly.

Also looks like mines n 67A I think looking at the parts list. No pin in retaining assembly.
