Snap-on 7.2v 3/8 impact

Has anyone tried the new little impact snap on is offering in their 7.2v volt cordless line? If so, any good?

I am wondering this too. I don't want the 14.4v one I don't need a huge one but this seems perfect if it has some power.

I have it and I'm disappointed in it. What I don't understand is that my CT561 cordless screwdriver seems to have more power than the 3/8 impact. I've had it stall on window regulator bolts, upper intake plenum fasteners, and coil pack bolts. It's a great idea but, executed poorly. A friend of mine has the Milwaukee M12 3/8 impact and if he hears me bitching about my paperweight of a mini impact, he'll come over and remove whatever it stalled on with his M12, which only adds to the **** level.
The CT561 cordless screwdriver is the best thing since sliced bread but, the mini impact blows.
I'm looking to Dewalts new line of 12v max small frame impacts and I might grab one of those since they might be cheaper than the M12 series and a little more robust.

I agree. I love my CT561 screwdriver but wasn't impressed with the impact version.

I used a friends 1/4 Craftsman Nextex impact a few weeks ago an must admit I liked it. Not sure I would buy one but I was impressed with the power and feel.

I've got one, and I think that the biggest problem with it is that Snap-On didn't put a 1/4" anvil on it. As a result, guys want it to do more than what it is intended to do. They work great on stuff like radios and consoles on our police and fire equipment at work, and they are pretty good for under dash work as well, but they have trouble with fasteners over 10mm or so.

I love mine, but I think that you do have to be realistic about what you can and can't do with it, and use it accordingly. 50lb/ft sounds like a lot, but in reality it isn't that tight.

I've got the Dewalt 14.4 1/2", and I like it...I would think that 7.2 wouldn't cut it though.

I have one, and only use it for 7,8, 10MM bolts. Very happy with it. Works good for fenders, decklids, items like that. But I don't use it for engine work at all.

I agree with Stick. It's a 1/4" impact with a 3/8" anvil and SO are also raising false expectations by claiming it'll handle 8mm fasteners. They should know better than to reference bolts by the hex size too

I have an idea... If you haven't personally used whatever snap-on tool is being discussed at the time, then STFU.

It's good information that the others on here provided. They own it and don't like it. Nobody cares what you read on facebook or what your matco dealer tells you.

50lb/ft sounds like a lot, but in reality it isn't that tight.

50ft lbs is a lot for something so tiny. For small fasteners and soft metal that would easily strip threads. I tend to doubt its actually rated for that though. A lot of battery powered tools, and tools in general, dont live up to their claims on paper.

I have since posting this used one and you all are right my 7.2 screwdriver does have more balls than that thang what a waste of money and snap ons good but slightly fading name, dont get me wrong i am a big snap on customer but i have been unimpressed with a few things in the past few years.

the Milwaukee 10.8v or what ever it is, is a better substitute for half the cost.
