Although I have other name brand power drivers, the Snap On 7.2v remains my favorite driver. But recently the back of the handle has became sticky, it feels the plastic anti-slip pad is “melting”. Anyone had this happen? I am looking for suggestions.

I've watched a bunch of YouTube videos and tried a bunch of stuff but so far nothing but mechanical means has taken the sticky rubber off the handles of my loppers. I'll be waiting for the next sure fire this worked for me idea.

This looks like the same issue that some cars have?

We own a BMW X3 and the passenger and drivers side interior handles do something very similar over time (heat seems to make it worse overtime) - the only workable solution is to replace or cover the material and anything else (chemical-mechanical) is short term at best (goo gone, 70% - 90% Isopropyl Alcohol, Acetone, etc...) and could make it worse in the long run from what I understand.

If you google for 'bmw x3 sticky door handle' you'll find whole threads about this type of subject.

How old is it? I've had old equipment with feet that turned to goo. Me thinks its a crappy formula to create a material that's plastic but soft. Can see from your picture where its coming off and smearing, no cleaning is going to fix that.
