Snap On Accuride Drawer Slides?

I went to look at an advertized S/O Kr7001 box. It had 'Accuride' slides on all the drawers. I couldn't tell if they were ball bearing or not. There was a 'clink' when the drawers were about one half way out. Anyone know anything about these drawer slides? I've seen our threads about how some of you like the older, non b/b slides, but that the boxes w/o b/b's are not so hot for resale value.

Accuride bearing slides are made by Accuride for snap on... accuride slides are very good and strong. KR7001 that has accuride slides on are ball bearing toolboxes not friction slides...

personally I like the BB toolbox drawers better. I have SO with the BB slides and with the friction slides.
I will say one thing and that is that the friction slides in the SO boxes and worlds better that the ones in the Cman boxes as well as many other brands.
I have an old SO box that has given me great service over the years (even though it has the friction slides) and I woyld say that at this point it is worth more to me than the market value of the thing

by the way, for anyone interested. I have some cases of 24" accuride full extension ball bearing glides if someone needs them for a project

I just purchased a used Matco recently (MB1442). I need to replace several slides. They are marked as "MATCOGLIDE 33". Are these Accurides?

MATCOGLIDE was a registered trademark of matco tools. i believe that accuride was the manufacturer and private labled them for matco.

what years is your mb1442? the 1400 series was my personal favorite when i was a dealer

I'm almost certain they're made by Accuride, but they would probably be easier to get through your MATCO dealer. He might even give them to you if you have the old ones off to hand in.

It's a '93 and needs a little TLC.
I'll probably need a dozen or so slides for the top and bottom boxes.

I don't have a rapport with a matco man yet and I'd be suprised if he shows me that much love. So, I was wondering if I had options?

i'd say it's time for the MATCO man to step up and earn your business

you could always contact matco direct. they are usually very good with toolbox issues.

Hi everyone, been lurking this board for years and figured I'd make an account.

I wanted to revive this thread just to ask if I can put BB slides in a Matco box from '82?
I just got a SO KRL722, and while it's a fantastic box I kinda prefer having lots of smaller drawers over a few huge ones. The Matco is more like a machinist box, I guess I like that?

But the drawers on the Matco are pretty jacked up, I have to lift a bit while pushing in. I'm not sure if it's best to try to rehab the slides that are in there now or try replacing them (if possible) with the BB slides? Has anyone had any luck in that department?
