I bought this Snap On # ADCF8 3/8 drive adjustable crowsfoot wrench. I thought it was a neat tool. I also bought it because I have a feeling it will be discontinued in the future. It's a little to large to get into most small places that you would need it.What do you think of it ? Nice or novelty ?

If I found that for HF kind of money I might be interested. Spending $50 on something that is rarely if ever used is a bit much.

I saw that one and thought it is really cool. Someone had a great idea that will solve a few problems in limited circumstances.
I was impulsed to buy one but my practical side kicked in with when would I need it?
Plus I figured that if I ever get into a bind I could get an old adjustable wrench, cut the handle off and weld a drive end on it and be done for around $10

I own one.

Made in Spain.

Just like any tool, it has its place. Certainly not a novelty.

I would never sell mine and it's not a daily use tool.

Just another S-O specific use tool that it's awesome to have when you need it.

And BTW, the head is the same size as a 10" adjustable without the big *** handle.
And the SO will get into some REALLY tight spaces. Remember, once you add a ratchet it makes it a VERY tight cicle 360 degree adjustable wrench.
Quite handy.

Great idea for sure. Seems a touch on the bulky side for me and space is usually limited when you need to use a Crow's Foot.

MAPP gas and a "can do" attitude makes it quite handy for VERY tight fit O2 sensors and other sensors in stubborn and hard to reach bung holes.

LOL

I just typed *********.

Ha.

Also works as a combo metric/imperial for plumbing and haudraulic work if in a pinch but you can get heat to the fastener.
Again. Time and place.

If not for the previous posts, I would have thought this was a joke (or April fools post if a few months in the future) I don't get why I would want this over the crows I already own but I might just lack vision.

When I looked it up on the snappy site I see "This item is currently not available". Does that mean it's so popular they can't make enough or that they've pulled the plug on it?

That looks like a Williams one.
They had 3/8 and 1/2 drive versions in their 1951 catalog.

The current SO price is cheaper than I've seen the oldies fetch.

Yes, I did not make that clear. It is a Williams. Posted since it was on the subject. Neat to have...that's all.

Does anyone make a larger capacity version (>1.14")? I could really use a couple large crowfoot wrenches, but having just one adjustable wrench would replace a set and take up less drawer space.

Personally I would rather have the individual crowsfoot wrenches over this. I've had many quality crescent wrenches over the years and they do have their purpose but to me they do not replace a wrench. They just don't fit the nut or bolt like a good wrench does. Especially with the larger sizes which usually need more torque when using which tend to round the nuts.

And I agree with your 100%.

Line wrenches are often teh best solution, then crowfoots for obstructions, but there ARE times when the adjustable crosfoot is the only tool that will fit the job without spending the added time to modify a tool (and then the money to replace it)to work or add to disassembley and then assembly time to reach a fastener. Time is lost profit in the real world of wrenching.

It's a "specaity tool" and it proclaims to be nothing else.
But, say you don't have tool storage space for all of the wrenches, crowsfeet and ratchets, this tool will work. It is CERTAINLY no gimmick.
Trust me.

Don't buy one if you feel the need is not there, it does have it's uses.

I really like the idea of the adjustable crowfoot, but the sizes I need exceed what the Snap-on one is capable of, so I made my own 1.75" adjustable crowfoot.

Looks like I have something to make tomorrow! I wonder, I haven't had the time to try ercusi(silicon bronze) tig brazing and it seems like a project that would be fun to try. That looks like a big head, was it a 15" wrench?

Just a Hobart MIG. Good prep (remove chrome, flat mating surfaces, etc.) helps.

done and done, just pulled one out of the box and got an extra 1/2 socket to weld to that beast, cant wait to use it, this will come in real handy to do inner tie rods on little cars, ive got a bunch of large bonney crowsfeet but they are thick as hell and this will help with the clearance issue i was having, thanks for posting pics

Who on this forum hasn't spent $50 on something they rarely use?

It's perfect for my needs. I need a Crowsfoot about as often as Haley's comet shows up. I need it so rarely that buying a whole set of individuals is hard to justify, but knocking out all the Crowfoot needs I'll likely have for $50 is a bargain. I want one terribly.
