A friend has a Snap On compressor in his diesel performance shop and it is a giant P.O.S. This coming from a big time Snap On fan. If I remember it kept blowing head gaskets the first year he had it. Snap On sent service out twice and I think after that they basically told him it was his problem.
Quincy or Champion would a much better choice for less money.

I'm sure the Snappy is "okay" in a general statement. My money would be into a piece of machinery that can be serviced here in the USA.

I bought the 7180 and it works great. Can't speak for reliability as I've only had it for a couple months. But I got it new for less money than a comparable Quincy. No way I'd pay $5k for one.

I bought one of those used a few years ago for $900 with a brand new Baldor motor on it.
It works fine, but I wouldn't say it could hold a candle to my Champion Compressor. It sure looks better, though with that red paint.
Seems like the Snap on is an off brand compressor - IMC or something like that.
No way I would pay anything close to 5 grand for one, when you can get the premium model Champion for about $2500.

Not sure about your model but the company Big Red made or makes most of their compressors. I couldn't find parts for mine but they were able to help me.

5hp, 80 gal tank... probably has a chinook k30 pump.... post a pic of the pump, or go to the rolair website , verify that’s your pump, and check the k30 specs

Nothing I have Googled about Snap-On compressors has shown anything to get excited about. Chinook pumps are ok for a low cost solution, but they are asking top of the line prices for budget equipment. If you have that kind of money to spend get a Quincy QR-25 + a refrigerated dryer and be set.
