I have a PH2050 air hammer that is not working. When hooked up air passes through the gun. My question is how do I take it apart to inspect the seals in side?

Rest the bit against a solid object and see if it works then, I had a snap on before that would just hiss unless you had it pressed against an object.

I tryed that and it would not work. I think there is a bad disk in side from the research that I have done but can not find any one to tell me how to take the gun apart to replace the bad parts.

Chuck the pistol grip part in a vice, and unscrew the chrome barrel part.
I had to grab mine with a pipe wrench, put a few marks in the chrome.

Does it blow air immediately when hooked up or just when the trigger is squeezed? If it happens right away, the trigger valve or seat may be bad. If it's when the trigger is hit, it could be almost anything inside. I've fixed a few of these before, and I've seen every part inside broken at one time or another.

Sometimes it's just crud. Before getting out the pipe wrench, try some lubricant/light solvent like WD40. Spray a bunch down the air fitting, spray some in where the chisel goes. Hold it vertically and push the chisel in against something hard a couple of times. Let it rest for a few minutes. Connect the air hose, push the chisel hard against a piece of wood and pull the trigger. Any change? Try it a second time before tearing into it.

The barrel had a broken collar removed broken piece and rebuilt unit the unit works. for how long I dont know the part broken is $130 so I am going to want until it fails again before I compleatly rebuild it.
