I'm not a professional mechanic, and not an expert on Snap On, but can y'all give me some feedback on their super duty air hammer? My dealer had one on sale for $425 with five bits.

You won't find anything better. Question is do you really need like that or will something cheaper do the job.

I have a Snap-On air hammer.
No complaints whatsoever, that said, if I had to do it again, I would at least explore other options for the money.

That is a good deal on a new one but you might be better to get a second hand one for home use you might look at local pawn shops might be better for what you are needing

And current ir line is good aswell

I bought a Snap On PH3050B with a half dozen or so bits. I kept the bits but dumped the PH3050B once I got my hands on an Atlas Copco RRH08P-TS air riveter. The Atlas is half the weight, more powerful, and more controllable than the PH3050B. The only thing you lose is the quick chuck. Look for the RRH08P-TS used on eBay. It makes the Snap On seem like an overweight noise maker. The Atlas knocked studs out of an exhaust pipe that the Snap On would not budge. For even more power, look to a CP717, or the Astro linked above. The CP717 and Astro Big Nasty take .498 Parker shank bits. The Snap On PH3050B uses .401 Parker shank bits.
