Snap On Air ratchet deal...

A little before story....

So at a local auction a month or two ago, I bought some used Snap On air tools. They were marked as not working, so I bought them both for a combined $25. It was PT110 90* die grinder, and a XT7100 impact gun. Long story short, I got them home and working that night without even having to order any parts....So I have $25 in a ~$300+ impact, and a ~$200+ die grinder....

Fast forward to today..I just won this auction on ebay...

List price on a new FAR72C is $412...

So I figure I can/will pretty much fix every one of them, or at least get most of them going...Keep a couple for myself, maybe give one to my brother, and sell the rest to get my money back and maybe put any profits towards some more tools...

I've really been looking for broken tools lately, any one else do the same? I'm eyeing some Metabo Grinders, that I mentioned in another thread, on ebay now.

Awesome..I wanted to try my hand at fixing the only broken air tool I had..
I took apart an air impact went inside for the afternoon and my kids scattered the parts when I came out the next afternoon. I found some the other day that had been for 6 months..LOL.What do i expect with toddlers, its all good..

Make sure you can parts for everything..Should be able to sell everything off and make some money even if you need a few for donor parts..

Yeah, I love buying broken stuff and fixing it. It's more fun than buying new, and it saves a boatload of money.

I bought the pt110 die grinder off of ebay also. Saying not working!!
Well i hooked it up and it just blows air and the collet doesn't spin. Can u help me out?

get hold of a parts list and take it apart to see if you can identify the problem.

If you hear the motor but it doesn't spin, probably needs gears. If you do not hear the motor, then probably bearings and or vanes. Just check your end plates and cylinder to make sure they are ok.
