Have bought ex coworkers tools(switched lines of work) and have all of the air tools I will need, selling off nicer of the two. Prices include standard ground shipping from Las Vegas.

Snap on Air ratchet,far2505,3/8 drive, like new, retail is 299, I would take 140

Snap on Impact, Brand new, mg275, too much tool for how I will use it home, retail is 409.95, will take 220

Also have a couple of cheaper impacts I would like to get rid of, but not sure anyone would want to ship. Please feel free to ask any questions

I also have a 2 or 3 year old craftsman 1/2 impact that is in good working order but has been used. No idea what its worth. was 80 or 90 new then

And a campbell hausfeld 1/2 that was my dads, he cleared out alot of tools when he retired, and this was one of them. might be 5 years old, not much use, was may 50 or so new.

Would cut someone a deal if they wanted both.

I'm afraid that I need to start the process of trying to get my money back via PayPal. Has anyone ever gone down this road before?

I sent money as well for the MG725 and still have not recieved it. I even payed for 2 day shipping!! I have been emailing him and his wife answers and she says he is on a business trip. I have called him on his cell phone as well. If this goes on another week, I am getting my money back.

Damn. Thanks for posting, CD. I was wondering if you were having the same problems that I was.

I started the process with paypal today.

Anybody having any luck? I'm getting totally ignored now both email and phone. Guess I'm going to have to fight to get my money. I hope paypals "protection" isn't just a bunch of talk.

Good luck to you. I've had disputes through paypal twice before and they both worked out but I don't know if it was because of paypal. I think in both cases the sellers just caved and did what was right. I don't know how it will work if the seller refuses to respond and there is no money in their account for paypal to take. Luckily I paid via credit card this time so if paypal drops the ball hopefully I can still file a claim with the CC company and get restitution that way.

I'm really baffled by whats going on I'm fairly confident the guy is who he says he is and all that, I'm just at a total loss as to why this action. I'd be disappointed to find out that it was all lies and a scam from the start.

Damn and he is local too, hope it all works out for you guys. Been here before, Paypal usually is pretty good about this stuff. I was also scammed out of a fairly large amount of money and they recovered my losses. Good luck to you all and I hope he really is on a Business trip....

I hope so to, but even if you were to go on a business trip and you sold some stuff, wouldn't you tell someone that you are leaving and cannot respond back to them??

EDIT: if you have bought something from fatal using paypal, and have not recieved it, file a claim with them to get your money back. If he does not respond back to paypal within ten days, paypal will close the case and refund the money. I filed a cliam this morning.

Maybe the moderators should sticky a thread in this section for shady sellers or scammers. That way you know if that names on a list you know better than to deal. Also if someone sees their name on that list they will probably think twice before trying to scam someone. Just a thought...

Just FYI, Paypal will refund your money IF the "seller" has enough money in their Paypal account. If they transfered or spent the money, then you are SOL, Paypal will only refund you up to the amount in the seller's account.

Happened to me when I sent someone $50 for an item, they never shipped it and I filed a claim via Paypal. The seller never replied to the claim so Paypal ruled in my favor. Problem is, the guy wiped out almost all the $$ in his Paypal account, so I got a whopping 0.17 cents refund.

I questioned Paypal about it and they said that if the guy ever gets any more money in his Paypal account, they would transfer it to me- I'm not holding my breath.

That's ridiculous.

This whole experience has been a bit of an eye-opener for me.

I just saw this thread. This *****.

To play it safe, I have removed the post that contained this person's address and phone numbers. Not to protect him, but to protect this site from any liability should anyone use that information to do something.

Rig is 100% correct, if the money is not in the account PP will not do anything, they won't eat it. Had something similar happen to me, PP was useless because the guy drained the account. PP is convenient but USPS money orders are safer, most scam artists don't want to screw with the heat that mail fraud CAN bring. I lost around $100, it wasn't about the money it was more about people screwing people and not suffering any consequences. If I figured it out I am still WAY ahead of the game with the deals I've gotten here and on Ebay, if you play the game long enough eventually you will take a hit.

Had a seller claim he closed his accounts and drained the money, etc. but I got my money back. PayPal has access to your other accounts, so I see no reason why they could not pull form your linked accounts to pay back a buyer who has opened up a claim.

In all fairness, the seller said he was relocating, but I agree that is no reason to not communicate to people.

BMW, If the thief deletes his linked accounts PayPal will not try to grab the money. I believe they did in the past. He could also just go to his bank and fill out a form stopping all ACH transfers, the bank will not pay anything that is not a check drawn on that account. Someone got a hold of my wife's debit card info and used it at a few online places that charge a recurring monthly fee, we had to fill out the form to stop those transactions, it sucked because the POS used the card at a bunch of places so we had to stop all ACH transactions, automatic bill payments ETC.

incorrect. I sold a GM stereo to someone and then used the money to buy tools assuming the guy was happy. he got pissed because it locked and needed a tech 2 or a dealership to unlock it. never sent it back claiming it wasnt what was described. paypal deducted from my account the hundred or so bucks and my account was negative and i could not pay for anything using paypal until my account was back in positive money

i hope that is correct because i really want my $225 back. But even if he drained his account and closed it, couldnt he just make a new one under a different account number??

I'm not gonna argue the point with you because I don't know the details of what happened with your case- but I know what happened in my case- and I got screwed. I don't know exactly what the "seller" did to make it happen, but it happened.

Also, Paypal will NEVER side with the buyer if they file a claim saying the item is "not as described". To me it's kind of like a trick they play to get you to admit that you received the item- then they say "sorry, we don't get into disputes about quality or condition of items- if you receive it then that's all we care about".... The only prayer you as a buyer have when filing a Paypal claim is to say it was never received.

not sure...although i wasnt a scumbag and i didnt close my account, so I am not sure what would happen with someone who closed their account. I feel paypal should charge their CC or something

Yes. As long as he doesn't use the same details as the other account, Paypal will have no way to know it's the same guy- and frankly I don't think they care....much.

Haha...again, not true in my case.
As above, bought a tool off ebay and the thing was definitely not as described. Seller claimed I was scamming him and that his account was drained and closed and I was never gonna get the money back...hah. I went thru with the claim to paypal and got my money back. PITA, but I got my money back.
