Haha...again, not true in my case.
As above, bought a tool off ebay and the thing was definitely not as described. Seller claimed I was scamming him and that his account was drained and closed and I was never gonna get the money back...hah. I went thru with the claim to paypal and got my money back. PITA, but I got my money back.
Jeez, I don't know what the heck to believe anymore about Paypal.
They seem to either change their rules alot or apply them very inconsistently.
I had a situation where I was sent an item that was completely different than the seller described. I filed a dispute (NOT a claim) and said "item not as described". Paypal basically told me they couldn't do anything to help me, but encouraged the seller and I to work it out. We ended up coming to an agreement before I had to file a claim- so I don't know how it would have turned out- but I assumed from Paypal's initial response that I'd be SOL.
OK, slightly different question:
Has anyone PERSONALLY had Paypal take $$$ out of their bank account without their permission?? Not "a friend" or "I heard", but personal first hand experience????
I don't think Paypal can do it without your express permission. Sure, your Paypal account might be linked to your bank account, but the only time $$ ever leaves your bank account is when you authorize payment to someone.
I sure hope I'm right about this one- but please tell me if you know otherwise.
