Well, the block check may be positive. But the words can make a difference.

I have only left negative feedback twice actually. Both of those cases were scammers who had their accounts shut down only days later.

I do this because I have had people leave feedback before they even emailed me to see if we could work something out....

I.E. A guy left me neutral feedback because a tab was broken in the box of a $3.99 DVD (I didn't even notice it). I would have refunded all his money and let him keep it had he not been such a little Bi#$@ about it.

I don't think there is anything wrong with this. There are lots of bad buyers out there, believe it or not... When someone asks you me weird question on ebay, the first thing I will do is check their feedback--I will usually start with checking the feedback they have left for others, to see if they are in the habit of negging, but the feedback they receive is important too.

If I see something there I don't like, they're blocked.

All that sellers who leave positive feedback as soon as they receive payment are doing is masking problem buyers.

You should see some of the nightmares posted on the ebay power sellers forums.

If you do a lot of selling on EBAY you may understand why I do not give feedback until everything is done.

I could go on and on about why I have my disclaimer on there... It was learned behavior by people who could give negative feedback because you would not lower your shipping costs, essentially holding you hostage.

You're exactly right about not leaving feedback until you receive it. If I were you though, I wouldn't bother with the disclaimer. It won't deter bad buyers and could turn off good ones.

I agree, It may turn off some buyers, but I have not had the "Shipping cost" shakedown since I put it up.

You should have seen my original disclaimer.... I have toned it down compared to what it once was....

I don't see anything wrong or questionable about your disclaimer. I've had people dicker for 5 cents cheaper shipping. I'd say you are better off without certain bidders.

Say, forgive me for sounding like a school marm, but I'm mentioning this ONLY so you can get better prices. There's a strong correlation between quality of the photo and sell price. You could improve your photos considerably with either a neutral background OR using the manual over-ride on your camera to add some more exposure if you're going to use a white background. Alternately, if you're a photoshop person, you can even alter the look afterwards, using white balance, like I did below.

Yeah, I have been a bit lazy with my photos. The thing is, I was outside and it was a bright sunny day, I really thought they would turn out better. After some attempts I said screw it and just took the best ones I had.

For what it's worth, an overcast day is actually what you want. The clouds provide a diffuse light source that will minimize glare and shadows and usually give you the most accurate representation of the subject. It won't be artistic, but it'll show your product well.
