Snap on and mac warranty question

I have some snap on and Mac tools I’ve collected over the years and have set aside stuff that needs warrantied and have decided it’s time to do it

I do not buy stuff off the trucks so no relationship with a driver

Do I find a driver or mail them in?

Anyone send them in the mail? How picky are they about what they warranty?

Call customer service if you don’t have a snap-on or Mac guy. Sometimes they sill have you send them back sometime not.

I read that SO now requires you to be the original owner
I called them some time ago (May be a year) needing a handle for 1980s carry box. They asked me those questions. (I explained to them that it’s not a warranty call but rather looking for correct replacement part. They had it!)

I mailed in a Mac ratchet for a broken handle and they mailed me back a new one.

Easy transaction.

Phone call over email every time! You’ll likely have better luck with a few items rather than a large lot. Email you may get the “canned” response about original owner.

A few calls to SO about 1-3 items they happily sent me replacements and told me to dispose of mine. I was asked once about ownership, I was honest and they still sent the replacement.

A call to SO about 8 deep sockets with chipped chrome they wanted them back on their dime but I got replacements.

This is before I befriended my local driver. I have never had a bad warranty experience with SO but I don’t turn in buckets of swap meet stuff.

No experience with MAC warranty.

I have had a MAC ratchet need repair like 3 times. I just keep it with me, and catch a truck gassing up/parked at Dunks/whatever. They fix it and I’m on my way...lol.

I've dealt with Snap-on several times over the years. Phone call has always resulted in quick replacement. Mac, not so much.

Mac is mail in or dealer if you have 1. I have had 2 dealers through the years and both just stopped showing up.

You can try calling or emailing Snap on if you don't have a dealer. I don't know what you do for Mac tools if you don't have a dealer. As for doing it on the truck, it depends. If you have a good dealer, they'll take care of it as long as it is actually broken. If you know anyone who buys a lot off the truck locally, I'd ask that person to introduce you to the driver.

some drivers tend to be jerks if youve never bought anything from them, play it safe and send it in

but what if you have no proof of purchase? will they reject it?
