A buddy of mine used to be a mechanic and recently he had to move into an apartment so I am babysitting his snap on KRL 7022 fully loaded with all snap on tools. He did leave me the key and said I am welcome to use anything I want. I do plan on trying some of the ratchets to see if they’re actually better than anything I have.

so now i have two 7022s in my garage. One yellow and one blue. lol

He won’t notice if a few things are gone right? LOL. I personally prefer Matco ratchets if going to a tool truck but that’s just me. I couldn’t imagine loaning all my stuff to my friends to babysit lol. I’d come back and it either would not be in the right spot or they would break it because they are rough on things.

I'd suggest that you might want to CYA. Go drawer by drawer and take pictures of what is in his box right now. In case anything bad happens, you can show what was in the box when the storage started at your place. Leave the pics on your computer in a saved folder and also burn a copy to to a thumb drive or disc for safe keeping.

I'd also keep it to yourself, just in case.

For insurance purposes this would cover your buddies *** too, and could be brought up to his attention this way.

Ie: just in case anything ever happens to my garage(fire, theft) I want to have some pictures of everything in both of the toolboxes so neither of us lose any of our ****

OP isn't following the GJ logic......or is he? Snap on box full of cheap tools, or cheap box full of SO tools. Have we come to a consensus on WWGJD?

i have lots of tools that i have accumulated over the years. I had 3 or 4 different tool boxes around the garage that all sucked. So i bought a used snappy box last year to consolidate everything into one box and have something that worked well.

Fancy seeing you around these parts, if you're who I think you are. Notoriously quick GTI?

Definitely report back on your thoughts on the Snap On ratchets, I've often been curious but never had an opportunity. Currently using lots of Tekton and HF, I'm satisfied but if the SO are truly worlds better, it might be worth the price point.

no sorry, never had a Volkswagen. i am on many other forums but never had a GTI. i did have a Very fast e36 m3 that ran 11's.

as far as the ratchets, i will but it may take a little time as i do not wrench all that often. i have a few projects coming up but nothing all that soon.

I have a snap on box of cheaper tools, a lot of tekton and channelock and such. I bought the box used as an upgrade over my series 1 hf44. I looked .at new boxes but for the same price as a new lesser name box (extreme, icon, homak, etc...) I picked up a used krl722 is great shape. So I get the quality and the name for the same price but also have the resale value if I ever need emergency funds or want to upgrade again
