A truck driver brought me my 3/8" battery powered Snap On impact gun today after it sat out in a light rain for 10 + hours. Worked great. That will teach me for not putting all my tools away. Had I put all my tools away and not left them in my cart, I would have seen that missing. Lesson learned. At least I don't have to buy a new one.

When he handed it to me, I was worried. Got it used for $200 and they are over $400 new. Needless to say, I was worried when I pulled the trigger and it worked very well.

i would maybe spray some wd40 through the exhaust slots.

I gave that same advice to a friend after he left his electric air compressor out in the rain. He sprayed the motor down and lit it up...literally.:shocking:

I thought he knew enough to let the WD-40 evaporate before starting the compressor again.

yea Depending on how bad the rain was I wouldnt be suprised to find water still inside of it. As tonydanzah said rc motors are commonly broken in by submerging them in water. Verry true I remember closed endbell guys doing this all the time to gain that last little bit of power. And if you think about it. motors dont have a whole ton of parts in them that can be damaged by water after being dried out. So maybe try spraying the electric motor out with some electrics cleaner and add a drop or two of light oil to the bearings/bushings. and while you have the gun apart look for any moistrue still traped inside

GOOD LUCK
