Hi,

Looking to buy a Snap on battery tester, the YA2624AEU model.

On the snap on website it states it tests batteries obviously but can also test starting and charging systems.

Does anyone own one of these and can tell me how it checks those systems ? It only appears to have one button so im confused how you configure it for testing purposes.

Do not own one but it uses conductance to test the battery, same as a midtronics unit. It does do starter and charging tests, how well it works idk, but I would bet it is a simple voltage /inferred amp test on starter and charging system test is just voltage.

I just bought a no. EECS150 . I have used it to test the battery in my Torino but nothing else. I lost my last one and got this one for 200.00.My snapon guy is a company man ,not a owner .He said they told him to sell two for 200.00 normal price is 229.99.
I had a midtronics from napa I paid 175.00 for it , so this seemed like a good price. It's in they new flyer for 229.99 ,so think I got a good deal.
