Snap-on Bicentennial box, what to do...

I picked this up over the week-end, it's pretty crusty I know. It's a KRA 59B with a 1975 date. I've only seen a couple of them, and I am not in very deep on the $ so here's the question.
Do I clean it up the best I can and fill it up?
Do I try to restore it? If so, can I still buy the emblems off the truck?
Or does it look like something to resale?

The emblems would be the new style logo.

The one that I've seen was blue...betting that would be hard to find

If I ran across that I would clean it and use it.I think old boxes look better in original "petina" if they arent trashed.Just be careful of your choice of cleaners.

Post before/after pics if you decide to clean it.

I would restore that box. There is a line between worn in with a little character and beat to hell.

Well i got the house paint off, and cleaned the drawers out. I doubt I'd ever find a emblem set for this box, so i think I'll just put some drawer liners in it and fill'er up. But by all means if anybody has a lead on a bicentennial kit let me know! I was in the 6th grade that year and remember that everything was geared to the celebration that summer. So the nostalgia factor has kicked in on restoring this i suppose.

There are many graphical forums where people will cleanup and duplicate that logo. so you can take it to a local vinyl printer. (used to do that when i restored some pinballs)

With the box fresh painted and a new sticker. your '75 box will look like you picked it up brand new yesterday.

It would be cool restored,I'm sure the decals can be duplicated. Some wd40 will bring some color back for now.

I would get some good digital pictures of those decals so if you ever want to have new ones made you will have the pictures before you do any cleanup or potentially any damage to them.

To me that box is a little too dull and grimy. I would get some polishing compound and buff that box up and give it a little shine. Once you are there you can better evaluate if the box is good enough for you or if you want to do more
