Snap-on BJP1 Replacement Parts

I picked up the Snap-on BJP1 ball joint press off of Craigslist yesterday for $260. It is like new but missing one piece, the BJP1-4 pressure pad (red box in the picture).

SO's website lists this part as not currently available.

Any ideas how to get a hold of one?

Try to call them or flag down a truck and ask the driver.

You could possibly try eBay but idk if you will find it on there

Thanks. I'll contact them to see what the deal is. I wasn't sure whether they do not sell this part individually or that it is back ordered. One of the best things about SO is that you can usually get a replacement part for anything.

Order new snap rings too they are 1.15 and wear out after about a year of use

I lost mine.....during a job and I dropped the press......it all exploded. I found the ball......but the plunger was no where to be found. My snap on guy had one in a week.

Try to get ahold of your local (or closest Snap-On dealer. He should be able to get you what you need. I bought the same press a few months ago and use it heavily. My dealer has been able to get me anything I have needed for it so far, and quick.

Snappy has the kit to rebuild/ replenish parts for a reasonable price

I called SO yesterday. A helpful woman explained that this part, BJP1-4, was discontinued and replaced with BJP1-4A. It appears that anytime SO modifies a part that they add a letter suffix. I don't see it in the online catalog, but she ordered it for me. Cost $13.

Based on Warmpancakes' and Prowrench's advice, I also ordered the rebuild kit to have replacement snap rings on hand for future use.

Glad you got it sorted out. I love me some Snap-On but their website is as helpfull as herpes. I can't find my *** with both hands on that new site.
