If any of you do ball joint or U-Joint work, the dude who invented this ball joint press should get the Nobel peace prize. Throw away your old OTC. This sucker makes a Dana 60 on a F350 look easy. One of my better buys. You can see videos on youtube for it. This sucker is a brute.

I scored on one CL for about 250...some crackhead was liquidating his tools for a move. I agree, makes other presses look like toys!

Yep I got both snap on and otc I think my otc is at home somewhere the snap on is great! It's worth it no doubt it seems expensive but this OTC kits you need a couple dozen cups to do it they way they want you too and then it costs more than the snap on

The OTC 8031 blows the BJP1 out of the water working on Dodge HD trucks. I own the 8031 and my friend went through two BJP1's because they where not up to the task and his dealer was not all that happy about it. I think the BJP1 is too generic with it's cups. I how ever do like that the C clamp from snap on has the space for mounting it in a vise. Another problem is the opening is too narrow for say the dodge.

That's the part that always threw me for a loop. The snap on comes with a handful of adapters and OTC makes what seems like 100s of adapters to cover all the vehicles. I guess the snap on adapters are just better thought out?

Actually, I just happen to have one of those selling on eBay right now. But the set I am selling has the adapters for the U joints only; but it includes the same press. You could either just buy the adapters for the cars you needed, or use the adapter sets from OTC or someone else. As pointed out, this press is better than anything else out there, (except maybe some of the hydraulic set-ups).

I have a brand new never used BJP1 set I'd sell for 500 shipped conus. I bought it before I realized the shop I just started working at as a loaner set. I'd rather recoup the funds and spend them on different tools.

I think in my opinion both the otc and snappy have their pros and cons and both do certain jobs better then others. Just opinion. Ive used both and i own the master otc set been using it for years works great no real complaints.

You could throw it on ebay for $550 (the extra $50 will cover most fees) and get a bite in a week or less im sure. Used sets in clean condition go in the mid 400s all day long. Needless to say that set has really good resale.
