Snap-on Blems?

While reading in the Hot Tools page I noticed the 1/4 inch extension set for 14.99 from a guy on eBay. While looking through his store (lots of SO but no real sets of any kind) I noticed some oddities. Look at this 3/8 drive swivel

http://www.ebay.com/itm/New-Snap-on...527?pt=LH_DefaultDomain_0&hash=item4170a70dff

and factory page

http://buy1.snapon.com/catalog/item.asp?P65=&tool=&item_ID=642311&group_ID=674841&store=&dir=catalog

different part number, no groves cut around the bottom piece and a hole drilled through the S and N of "Snap"

Are these factory blems? Sorry if this has been covered but I did a search and did not find anything

Googling the PN brings up a bunch of listings for a 1/2" universal socket by NSN, made by Snap On... Industrial line maybe?

Back in the day, Snap-on used to have a hole in the square drive end for socket retention; they now of course use detents. Cornwell is the last company to move to detents; they still had holes in their sockets on up to 2001.

I've bought a lot of stuff from this guy. It's all new, and everything I've bought is flawless including the extension set. Like said earlier it must be left overs from a large contract.
