Snap on body hammer question

Purchased my first snap on body hammer # bf632b on the bay. It said looks to be unused which I take with a grain of salt. I won it for less then half of the price on the snap on website so I can't really complain.

Question is. The griND of the face seems a bit rough I can almost file my fingernails with it. And face has a rough bevel, and in a couple places Un even. My martin hammers definitely alot nicer then this. Is this what snap on puts out or has this been "refurbished"

Snap on hammer does look unused rubber handle clean nothing really shows any wear marks on fiberglass rubber or steel.

My old wood handled ones are finished like the side of yours where the stamp is. That looks like a bad refurbish to me.

Just seems old. But if someone did grind on it. It seems the faces are uniformly surfaced with slight dome shape. I can hand finish this fairly quick with a soft sanding block and several fine grits of wet sanding.

That looks a bit more coarse than my BF632 (purchased new from the truck), but the finish and chamfer are very consistent for a DIY refub job.

Either way; start polishing and welcome to the addiction!

Here are some more pictures of my BF632 for comparison. I'm not the best photographer but mine was a little more smooth from the factory.

I already have the addiction. I have quite a few hammers and dollies. This is just my first snap on. And I actually need this hammer to be able to get behind a vw bug fender with the big headligh bucket

I've handled the SO body hammers on the truck, never was impressed with the finish compared to my Martins and the fact they cost double what a Martin does. I mean I like them but I would have to get a steep discount before I paid that.

So after a couple hours of hand sanding. Starting at 100 grit, then realizing I had to go lower since it was just too rough, 40 60 100 150 220 320 400 wet. I'd say it's decent enough. The edges still a little wonky, but I'm not too worried about it.
Here are the after pics

Im pretty sure that is manufactured my Martin and relabeled. Im guessing Snap-on provided the heads to have handled.

Same here. I never liked the handles. Martin's and S&G Tool Aid are my favorites. And mine have stood up to daily abuse for a long time.
