Snap On Box, advise needed

Good evening.
I found this box for sale (erased other junk from the picture so it would not distract...). The seller does not know much about it.
There is no key, rust, condition is not well known till I see it.

To me this looks like KRA 429.

So, the question:
1. Would you pay $42 for it?
2. Please confirm that this is KRA 429 and tell me if you can guess the age by the shape of drawers (I am guessing 60s)
3. Is there identical non-snap on box which looks like this?
4. Are those boxes supposed to have an emblem on left lower corner? (I saw on the internet some with and some without it)

I plan to meet the gentleman tomorrow in the morning. Please advise!

... Sorry about the bad quality - asked the seller several times to make more pictures, but no luck...

I buy and sell toolboxes. I have resold 10 since January. Here is the bottom line on that box. No name, little or no value. the picture tells me is should be a $10 project and a toolbox I would not cross the street for. If you buy this box count on 20 hours of restoring it. In perfect condition this box might sell for $35. If the SnapOn name was on it, try $45
This is an old blister and too old for roller drawer slides. The slides in this box could be worn out. Walk away
I paid $30 for the MAC end cabinet and another $40 for the 16 drawer Waterloo

Shelby I think it’s MBC. The fold over drawer pulls have an extra “tab” of metal underneath which is not there on any Snap On I’ve seen. Top pic is Snap on.

Thank you, guys
TRSRHNTR, this is from my 1963 KRA58B - not exact, but somewhat similar to the mid box

Why can not people make more pictures when you ask them? It feels like you have to beg people to get more info on the things they sell...

This is a confirmed 429 drawer pull, it’s different than your sellers box.....right?

So hard to tell

Agree, the second one definitely looks different.

I am meeting him tomorrow in the morning - will try to look over the box and see if it has a stamp - I think on 429 models it was on the back panel. Having my doubts (especially after seeing superdeals of isb cornbinder). Despite the rust, getting a 60s Snap On emblem (if it ends up being SO) is another adventure of it's own... Price is on a higher side as well: I bought a 1955 KR56 for $40 and 1963 KRA58B for $25 (complete, but both would benefit from some painting in the future...). I check CL frequently - this is 2 deals on the chests over 9 month period...

Somehow around Boston the prices seem to be relatively high and the attitude is "if it's old, it's vintage, if it's rusty - it's super expensive patina..., if I see a Snap On or Craftsman on it, it's worth it's weight in gold..."

$42 is a great price for that box if the condition is consistent with the pics. It's awesome to get toolboxes for giveaway prices like the other poster stated he got, but that's not realistic. I've been buying and selling toolboxes over ten years and I've rarely seen the giveaway prices.

Update:
TRSRHNTR, you were right. This is MBC. Once I saw the box, there was a remnant of glue from original sticker on the front (I wish people made good pictures when asked...). No lock, couple of extra dings. Decided to pass it...

I wish I had your restraint Shelby! Cornbinder was right about resale value but I collect these as a hobby.....or as the doctors are calling it, a “dangerous obsession”

Whatever the hell that means......[emoji23]

Have to do it - limited space and realization that it would be extremely hard to find an MBC emblem...

I have to save some space as eventually I would like to have several toolbox combos:
Snap ON (top, mid, bottom 352 or 300)
MAC (probably 70s: the square ones with MAC on the handles). They are not rare, just need to find one in good condition for a good price. MATCO version (which is identical visually) is more common around Boston, but for some reason I want MAC...
Old Craftsman (rounded ones from 50s-60s)
and... ultimate dream... I know they are not practical but I love the style:
K60/K260 combo. Earlier this year there was one in Detroit for $1000. If it was local - I would have went for it: it's expensive, but once you divide the price by amount of years multiplied by 12 months, it's not bad for the smile on the face!!!)

I am relatively new to this hobby, thus still hunting...

I dropped close to 2gs on mine. Have not regretted it. A nice red cap set seems to be going around 2400 lately. There is one listed on ebay for 4900 but not selling so far.

4900 is too much - I saw it as well. You have to be a very serious collector with good pockets needing specifically this item to complete a garage exhibition to spend that much.
Couple of members mentioned getting K60 for 400-500. I just need to get lucky one day...
12h drive to Detroit and another 12 back was just a little too far...
