that's a sweet deal. ask him if he will take less if you use cash. cash talks great on craigslist

 You sound like some of the geniuses that have contacted me. What else you would expect to use, credit card, gold, wampum? What kind of cash are we talking here; American Dollar, Euro, Mark, Canadian?

I had someone drive 250 miles, they wanted to use a personal check for $4500. They also had a short bed truck with a hard fiberglass top and wanted to load a 2500 pound 7' long 4' tall generator in the back without removing the cover. That was a fun day.

Go get the box, that is a good deal.

That I can understand, if someone is willing to spend $4500 on a used item, I doubt they would write a bad check. That much loose bills gets tedious to carry and count for both the buyer and seller. Anything sub ~$2K though is a bit worrisome check wise IMHO. As always depends on the person. It's just the people that say something along the lines of "Would you take $70 cash?" or "I can bring you $70 cash" for a $100 item.

Yeah I saw this box on craigslist a few says ago. Looks pretty good from the picture. Im surprised someone hasnt scooped it up yet. I was supposed to be going on vacation this weekend but I dont think I am going to be able to go anymore. If I dont go Ill probably make him an offer with the money I was going to use on vacation.

The problem was, that they just assumed I would take a check form someone from another state. No thank you, lucky for them the bank was national and the Uhaul store was open.

I bought that same box new in 2007 for $3,000. KRA-2411PBO.

It is a good box, and will last forever. You may outgrow it. I have *almost* outgrown mine. For $800 it is a no-brainer if you need a big toolbox (it is 54" wide by 24" deep).

If I was you, I wouldn't f/k around and wait on that. It's gonna be gone soon.

I hate when people sell things like that, "X for this, Y for that, or X+Y for this and that." Aren't you supposed to reduce it a little to give some incentive to buy both items?

Anyways, +1 get the box or a rival gj'er will.

Maybe it's just me, but I'd never take a personal check unless they were willing to meet at a local bank during business hours. The last car I sold was paid for in $50s. While $6200 in 50s was annoying I'd prefer that over a check any day.

Dude, my lady is from that area. Was just down there a few weeks ago. I searched c.l. and the local pawns for good deals. Nothing. Even used cars in that area are ridiculously priced compared to the northeast. I didn't see any deals even half as good. If I was still there I might just be loading that into her dad's garage.

Its a decent box, but people think that the 4k price when financed translated into 3k used, that's as reasonable a price your going to get.

Also, I'm a firm believer in negotiating, but there are times when you can over do it, such as now. If the thing is as nice as it looks, how much lower than 700ish can you go before asking to have it for free? (With the exception of the "I need this sold by 3pm today to make rent" ad, then show up at 230 with 400 and hope)
